I'm being a little cheeky but man has this month been stressful!
Stress doesn't really go with my outfit.
Unknown
This time of year is always busiest for me at work. I'm the money lady but
also the HR lady, the tech lady and the Real Estate lady. I wear many hats.
lol.
We had retreats, we expanded our office footprint in December so my team and I
have been getting that space ready for opening in March, February is
performance evaluation month, trying to close the books for 2024, it's been
freezing, plus all the mommy things. And now, I'm sick!
Most days the best I could do was get out of bed and get my day
going.
That's just my internal environment. The external has been a hot mess express
so I'm sure all of us have experienced a level of stress in this first month
of the year that is unprecedented . Or least it has felt that way.
This month I indulged in some retail therapy.
An argument could be made that I should have invested in real therapy but
no judgements here lol
🤷🏾♀️
My mind is constantly moving so scrolling through styles on J.Crew Factory,
Boden, ABLE, JustFab, ThredUp and others has helped to quiet my mind. It's
also enabled me to score stylish finds.
Happy Lunar New Year!
My pockets are not that deep however so I have added rituals to my bedtime
routine. I started a Bible study to read through the Bible in a year and I
play that before I go to bed. I've started using my rose quartz roller on my
face at night while in bed to help me decompress. I started back doing yoga! A
YouTuber I follow Cassie has a great bedtime routine that I love.
I also plan to start Pilates again. I miss moving my body. I don't miss the
gym though lol.
There is so much going on I've begun looking at self-care differently. I
promote it here all the time but often we equate it to spa days or bubble
baths. Honestly though it can be as simple as doing yoga on your bed or
slathering your face in cocoa butter and using your rose quartz roller on your
face while you watch Frasier reruns. The Golden Girls works too.
Whatever works to calm you down is the best self care for you.
Like I said at the top, "Stress doesn't really go with my outfit".
And I've been wearing some good ones. I want how good I look on the outside
to match how I'm feeling on the inside.
How about you? What are you doing to combat stress?
