Of all the identities I hold the one I value the most is that of mom to my two
amazing kids.

Their happiness and joy and laughter bring me so much happiness, joy and
laughter. Even as I write this I'm tearing up because I don't think I can
adequately describe how much I love their smiles. Even on my lowest days
their joy brings me back.
To me there is no picture so beautiful as smiling, bright-eyed, happy children; no music so sweet as their clear and ringing laughter.
The best part of my day is when I walk into the house after work, and they run
to the door screaming "Mommy!" and we share hugs and kisses.
My daughter bursting out with spontaneous laughter. Her giggles over bubbles.
My son exclaiming in triumph over another video game level conquered. His
beaming smile from a compliment on his drawing and it receiving pride of place
on the refrigerator.
There is so much that is hard in the world today, but these moments give me
peace.
I won't have them forever because kids grow up so fast, so I remind myself to
cherish the moments. Every laugh, every tickle, every smile.
They are absolutely my MOST favorite thing. Shoes and coffee are a close
second.
